Zhana Galjasevic: Owner of The Yoga Room and The Workout Factory

“I really saw the neighborhood grow. When we first came we maybe had four restaurants. There were no supermarkets, no Duane Reade. If you wanted food, you had to go to the deli. It was just two buildings, Avalon and I can’t remember the other one. It was quiet on the street. When I would walk the dog at 9 in the morning, it was uncomfortable because there would be no one around.”

“The thing that is changing now is it’s becoming less transitional. Before you get used to seeing some clients and they move away. I feel and hope that that’s going to be eliminated by having more condominiums. We still have predominately rental but it’s definitely changed from the beginning.”
